Hi All,
I am starting a restoration project on a Farmall Super C. Hopefully I will receive enough in-put from you folks to get me through this, as I am of aveage intellagence, well may be a little below. The tractor has been setting in the woods now for about 3 years. The last time it ran, oil would spit out through the exhaust. My plans are to restore it for a pulling tractor. As mentioned any in-put will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Do a compression test. Do a leak-down test. Try to get some accurate history on the tractor (ie,why was it parked out back in the first place). This tractor may not even be restorable (from a financial standpoint).Don't let your dream get in front and cloud reality. After you determine if it will run,get it running "right"and everything operating right and then re-asess whether you want to go farther into restoration. If you just want a pulling tractor, then don't swet the "correctness" details and maybe a junk engine is not that objectionable if you want the opportunity to start from the ground up and do a little "legal" modifying. Leave the paint and body 'til last,you may not have any money left,but it should wait 'til you're done tinkerin' anyway. You need to write down a plan of action and do your changing on paper so when you finally start work you know which direction you are going and can finish the project and be happy with it. For specifics,the other poster is right,go to the IH part of this forum,they have some people who know their stuff when it comes to "red" .
