That castrol degreaser(purple stuff)works great.Used it on my 530 when I first got it,now it weighs alot less.I have hot water plumbed outside the shop, and that works great with the pressure washer.Have fun.

The purple castrol, or 'purple stuff', and even simple green.. (though purple is stronger and will remove paint too).

It 'melts' grease pretty good.

That and a good stiff bristle brush, and any kind of pressure washer is the way to go if you plan on removing grease, and paint.

Go to wal mart and pick up a gallon or two of Castrol Cleen and put it in a pump up garden sprayer straight out of the jug. Pump it up and sray it on. Let it soak in a while and it will do a lot. Now when you powerwash it a lot more of the grease will come off. You may have to do it a couple of times and scrape here and there but it works. Good luck.

Everyone wants an easy way to do it, there is no easy way. Oven cleaner and pressure washing, more than once, will get a lot of it; you have to scrape or wire brush off the heavy stuff. Unless you have access to a good hot water pressure washer $$$.

Mineral spirits and elbow grease is the best de-greaser I have found.

I'm thinking your going to have to brush it to make any real progress..... .

Warm the engine up and spray with a good gunk type degreaser or easy off oven cleaner. Let it stand 5 minutes and then brush by hand with wire brushes. Pressure wash....then repeat.

It becomes very clear after while why nobody ever got rich restoring tractors.Personal job satisfaction doesn't pay many bills but it makes you feel higher than all the drugs in the world. Look at it this way,you probably will never have to clean the grease again on this tractor in your lifetime!
