few weeks back talk to someof guys about my liftafter it gets hot it wont lift so this week i ran it until itwould not lift after about hour so i pulled the panel with the dip stick in it with light and mirrow icould not see any oil leaking down from the top are the lift cover but the oil over the pump was moving around a lot does that mean it is the releve vaule if so in tricks in replacing

are you talking about an 8n ford tractor if so the pressure relief valve is just below the pto shaft in front side of the pump with the cover off the right side you can put your hand in and feel if the oil is comming out of the hole ot the front of the valve. to change you need a 5/8 wrench (box end)very short to fitv in there then rapp it down to losen the valve to removeby hand dont have to drain oil the old part no. was 8n638 done a lot of em that way.... old art
