I am in the process of unseizing a McCormick Deering's W30 engine.

On two 1953 straight six truck engines I started with a mix of diesel and motor oil (about 4:1) poured down each cylinder until the crankscase was filled.

Next I sprayed daily rust penetrant (Lloyd's 'Moovit' was my choice) in each cylinder via the spark plug hole... did that for two weeks then hand cranked the engine over and it turned.

However, I know that tractor engine cylinders (with sleeves) are different; has anyone tried a method that works well routinely? Or do I stick with my methodology used on my trucks?

Fill the cylinders with a mix of PB blaster and auto trans fluid-park the tractor on a good incline (not a long one just steep to get the back end up) with the tractor facing down it. MAKE SURE NOTHING IS IN ITS WAY. Leave the tractor in gear and wait for gravity and the PB blaster to work.

Sam, my own personal snake oil for stuck engines is a witches brew of diesel fuel mixed with brake fluid and auto tranny fluid left in the cylinders several days.

I've had good luck useing tranny fluid and or turpentine. I fill the cylinders with tranny fluid and then if after a few days its not loose I top that off with turpentine. So far out of 10 engines I have only had one that it didn't work on and that one all but one let loose and the one that didn't come loose the sleeve also came out with the piston. It took my 12 ton shop press to get that piston out of the sleeve

PB Blaster is unavailable in Canada (from what I have determined), so other than WD40 would Lloyd"s Moovit (rust penetrant) be a medium to try?
