Hello,
I own a Oliver super-55. It has reverse but no forward gears at all. Does any one have any ideas on what may be wrong with it? I bought the tractor this way and I have know idea what may have caused this problem.

If you are lucky the shift rods are misaligned. To check this pull the shift lever off being sure not to lose the 2 springs [right& left] which keeps the lever centered. To check alignment you will see 3 rods the center is hi-low and has 2 flats ground. The outer 2 rods have verticle ground flats ground. To line up take a long screwdriver move the center rod till it stops [forward] the slide the R & L rods forward till all forward slots line up, then reinsert the shift lever[w springs] This most likly is the problem. I had one with loose screws on the fork which required removal of the hydraulic cover but most likly likly the rods. I can send scans if needed. LOL

Thanks Jake, you were right on, it was the shifting rods that were misaligned. I had it fixed in about a half-hour. Thanks again, you saved me alot of time and work.
