I got a stock 52 JD A that I pull with. It has 13.6 X 38"s tires and spins out before it should. Mine has the straight 6-speed not the high/low. it will make a good pulling tractor. I pull in 5500 lb. antique class. It runs strong just spins out and I am using cast rear wheels. My air pressure runs between 6-10 p.s.i. 6 for the sand tracts and 10 for the really hard tracts. I plan on changing to pressed steel.

I thought he said he had a striaght 6, not a dual range.

dual range is- 1-2-5 in low side, 3-4-6 in high side.

The straight 6 has no high or low.

Not trying to say somebody is wrong, down here in Kentucky where I live we might just use different terminology than yall.

Could be it is slightly "Lean", or the spark is weak..which could even be caused by fouled plugs.. You might try opening the adjustment for the power a click or 2 and see if it is better, if not, set it back and try the idle mixture setting a click or 2 farther open and try that.. ONE click off, and they will either blow smoke, or hesitate... In Antique Farm Stock, you may be competitive, but there are plenty who have added a few goodies that are hared to detect..! Your stock 6 speed A will pull anything the tires will allow, in 1st gear..!

Ron.
