Stone boat is usually slow. 3 or 4th gear won't work. Would probably slip clutch or stall. Start at an angle to break free and feather throttle. Let tire pressure down to like 8 pounds and try it. You might get away with less.I run about 6 or 7 in mine. Fold them up a little.

Sounds like you need rubber, if you pull with us in CT youll need all you can with a stock H to pull in 4500, i would get into 4000 youll have a much better chance there with a stock H. but if your sping you either have wayyy to much air pressure or your tires are gettting tireed, do you have your hitch at 20"? and at the right distance off the axel?

I don"t know much about stone boat pulling, but it sounds to me like your tractor is weighted too heavy toward the front. Transfer some of your weight toward the rear of the tractor, and see if that helps.

Does this club allow duals?? If not, 16.9 or 18.4 X34. keep the cast centers!! Find a set of cast whels off a IH 300-350 row crop, and find a set of 16 or 18 inch double bevel rims, will bolt right on. If your pulling on balcktop, a new tire works well turned around backwards. Dirt, takes a tall tire, and the right balance and rpm and not too much power,, the right combination of just enough power to move, but working the engine,,, if the weight balance onthe tractor is right,, it should come out and go at an idle or up to half throttle, we tried the 70 HP H we got on blacktop,, ran 2nd and 3rd gear,, at 4000 and 4500, had 18.4s and still spun em in 3rd and little over idle speed. Too much torque to run light classes. Should have been up 6000 or 7000 lb range for the power,, Im not that ambitious to put tht H up that heavy these days. Might try to fill the tires up with water,,,,, always seems to help. ChadS
