About how much weight would I lose if I switched out my rolomatic for a straight narrow frontend on my john deere 60 ? Thanks for any replies.

Could you use step studs with nuts to save all the drilling other than the center hole? Kip

Not sure on the rolo to a straight.. You can also get a MT/40/420/430 narrow front.. You will have to drill the holds larger for the bolts.. and have to drill a hole for the centering pin.. but changing it and the wheels/tire.. you can lose almost 100lbs..

I looked at a mt frontend today and was wondering if you could make a half inch adapter plate to fit the 60.

I see no reason you couldn't, but I'd go the exact same route as JDGnut said, while it may be a small bit more work, it'll leave far less to be seen, and appear far more as if it were meant to be there.

As stated.. yes.. but the adapter plate would be way more work.. I just put it on the drill press and drilled out the holes.. and then drilled a new hole for the center pin.. (I did have to make the hole a little bigger with a die grinder for the centering pin.) There is one other little modification.. next to center hub you grind something.. I can't remember if its a notch in the hub.. or the hub center smaller... that is only if you are going to use different wheels.. the MT style wheels will need no modifications..

The adapter plate will have to offset the pedistal if you are only going to make it 1/2 thick, because the spacing on the holes is exactly the same between the different pedistals.. just different size bolts.. I have seen this done on farmals.. never on a JD...
I started out with wheels from a B JD.. and then moved to the MT wheels.
