Hi, I'm looking for advice on putting an IH Red Diamond into my M Farmall. I need some advice on starter and flywheel combo's, side frames to use (560 or 806 maybe?) Just need to know what will bolt up where using IH pieces so I dont have to make as much stuff. Thanks for any info.

Nothing is going to bolt up. It will be a funny looking M with a hood 2 feet longer than stock. Everything would have to be made or adapted. I"d advise using a 560.

I think it would be a neat looking tractor, would need at least some 18.4x38 tires though. I always wondered what a pontiac straight 8 would be like in a M. Have fun with the project!!!

Hey Charles you are showing your age!!! We had one of those when I was just about 15 yrs old, had to put a heat lamp on the carb to keep it starting when it was very cold out. Used to drive it to the barn to do the milking, AHHH the memories, fond I guess, all but the milking cows part.
