I have often read on this site about the M cams and the 450 cams. Have read in the past that IH improved the intake profile on the later cams. I pulled out my service manual for the M and my buddy pulled out his service manual for the 400/450. Turns out the specs were listed "THE SAME!" I don't see in the specs. where the differance is.
Kind of fell bad because I have been telling people to get the replacement cam thinking it would help, but other then the number on the cam the profiles listed in the 2 IH manuals are the same. Does anybody have any info. to this?
Thanks,
Charles

Thanks Chad, just doesn't make sense when the lift and duration is the same in both manuals. Everyone seems to think the later cams are better but the IH service manuals show different. Now, is the replacement cam offered now a different profile then what was offered in the 400/450 from the factory? Is it the ramp on the intake lobe steeper therefore going to total lift much quicker? hummm..... .. I'll blast you an email for the info.
Thanks,
Charles

"Rusty cam" on the sheet is the M cam
"NON RUSTY CAM" is out of a C-264,both cams had right handed threads on the nut. sorry for such larger pictures,, ChadS [email protected]
