I have a 1256 that i got the pump worked on last winter. I told the guy to turn it up as far as it would go. He put a heavier M&W spring in it and it seems to be pushing more fuel but not as much as i thought it should. When i called the guy back he said that he had to set the thing back to factory settings because it was flooding his test injectors. I went turned the smoke screw back out and it seemed to gain some more power, but still not what i thought. What im wondering is if he set the spring inside it back to factor and didnt leave it bottomed out? Any thought on what i should with this, or how to get more power out of my pump?

Thanks, KB

If you tighten the leaf spring clear down then you can work with the smoke screw if you have to.If you have a stock pump its probably a 370.I have a 390 maxed out 1206 lines and IH 429cid nozzles which are a little larger and one more hole.If you go with a450 head you will need larger lines and injecters and take out the transfer pump and add a pusher pump so you don't shear the pump shaft.

we had a 450 pump on ours and i couldnt get mutch over 200hp until we put big tips and lines than it went over 325. i dont know if you have enough fuel to hit the wall on the tips but something to keep in mind. the rosamaster is not the best pump for pulling if the class lets you go to a inline same money lasts longer more fuel

What size is the pump 370 or 390?Open the top back up and go in and tighten the leaf spring back down and see what you have then .

If you are still running the stock pump, get rid of it and buy a Inline pump, you can get way more power and smoke out of them.
