Your hitch is illegal in ALL organizations. It attaches ABOVE the centerline of the rear axle and that is breaking the rules or CHEATING! Imagine that from an IH junk puller!

I thing you need to look closely at the hitch you are refering to. It appears to me that the drawbar attaches to the origional hook point under the belly of the tractor. The vertical support does attach to the PTO cover area, but doesn't appear (at least from what I can see from the pictures)that it is attached to the drawbar. It only has a pad on the top and bottom of the drawbar to to hold it stationary vertically. If the drawbar fails it should pull straight out and fall on the ground. If the vertical support fails the hitch should drop. The pictures don't show every angle, but this is what I see from them. Discliamer: I have nothing to do with selling this hitch, or even know the guy that does, but it looks like a good design. Mike

I am looking forward to seeing ChadS booth there selling springs, clutch packs, copper head gaskets, to go along with dyno brochures. I'm sure that SoMeThInG WeIrDeR will be there, getting dyno-tuned at 540 rpms, holding steady at 42hp but with the spring it will go to 46! I have already heard that Roberts ordered springs for all of the Toys, so did Lustiks for the Bullet!

the only people that are mad are the one"s thats secret to "winning" got told. The old timers don"t like it when the begginers are given information that they had to figure out by themselves!!

No doubt that chads gets an "A" for effort. I will give the guy credit, he trys his best to help anyone. BUT.....his math is fuzzy at best; and his understanding (or lack thereof) of physics still puzzles me.

I'm talking about the times he says heavier pistons/rods HELP....OR....the time he made up his own math formulas for HP instead of using the real ones and wouldn't listen to anyone trying to explain it him.

Hey Frankenstein, That was quite a discussion - most of it was over my head. One thing I do know is that I've seen LW's moline pull & it's one bad machine. My GVI in 3rd was no match for his 4th + 10% gear.

I agree. I don"t know ChadS from Adam"s house cat, but I enjoy his post. He seems extremely knowledgeable and is most helpful. His critics are out of line. We can disagree without being disagreeable.

ya know Chad has helped lots of us, maybe a little or maybe a lot. You guys make a big deal about him trying to make money off these magic springs but when i asked him about springs he told me to go to tractor supply and match up a governor spring and to go to Napa and get the recurve kit. So whats the problem, his info is free and no one forces you guys to read it. Chad has helped me a ton on my project and hopefully with projects in the future.

Buy the springs that are known to work, or, buy your own and try and figure what "will" work. Seems like a no brainer to me. Either way, for pulling the springs being changed definatly help. I talked to the Ohio Gru [Denny] years back who sells parts and the only way he would give out any info was if you opened your wallet. Chad offers his opinion on what will work for pulling. Right or wrong, at least he's giving some guidence without $$$$$ signs in the reply.
BTW, I've not needed Chads service's since I've been into tractor pulling longer then he's been alive. I fist pulled a JD A at 12 yrs old in 1960. If I "were" new to pulling I would definatly have his telephone number handy.
