about three years ago I spent a lot of $ to get my 960 engine blueprinted but kept the bore and stroke stock.I regret now not having it bored because all of the "stock" tractors are bored. You need to get carb and manifold from a 901 on it so that it can breath. get your head opened up and planed down to get compression up. Get weight off to get it into 3500, put on 38inch rubber to get traction. Have fun!!

Thanks,

I'm getting it sleeved to 4.70 and going to use .040 over 192 pistons, stock stroke.
Larger intake valve, with appropriate bowl and chamber work to increase flow, and a cleanup of the exhaust with a good multiangle valve job and better springs. Bullet is grinding the cam. I have an after market intake tha apprears to be bigger than the 901. I will clean it up and match port it to wherever the head ends up. I have a new TSX871 from a D17 that will barely fit the intake. I'm thinking I will have static compression in the 11.2 to 11.5 to one.

Clutch will be converted to cermaic buttons

That is my plan, I think I can make 3500, most pulls here start at 3750.

I want to try 16.9 X 28 tires since I have them and the contact patch is a little larger than a 15.5 X 38. I wonder about the caterpillar effect?

Am I on the right track?
