It seams to me theres a lot of crying about wc and wds .well the bottom line is i have never pulled against an ac that didnt have ac serial numbers and castings. unlike two different green colors who like to use motors from massey fergusons or the other color green thats block and head cant be found on any production tractor.

after reading my on post .i may have left it that i was whimpering . i dont cry about any that pull . in competition i learned to loose as gracious as wins not to say i dont work harder if loosing to win .just trying to show some differences in the post on cheaters . tractor preference makes people bias .pull the tractor you choose and if you think rules are bias to one make purchase that make they sell them everyday . thanks for replys ml

I have a comment, reguarding Mr Burch and his WC. I cant take away the fact that that machine was stout. I think the way the rules were made, there was nothing asked, it was just done by the next pull. Was hush hush, but Bill and Jr, still had a pair of stout unstyled WC's. We all were pulling against alot worse tractors than that WC!! Oliver 77's with 88 blocks, or 310's, sneaked em right in. or the classic 88 ollie in the 3500# class in div 3 and on up, and all they did was keep reving them up faster and faster. The rev limiters they had on em, I dont know how many of em threw a rod or something out the side while being "tech inspected" Cause of the rev limiters they all had on em. Not just the olivers, the AC,s the JD, MM's alot of pullers of that era had something like that to keep in the rules. Alot of blinders worn back then. Has the trend continued????? Not from what I hear, but scatter blankets should be used in professional pulling leagues running tractors over 10 mph. Helmets and bullet proof vests and eye glasses for the tech inspection area. Chad, there has NEVER been an 88 Oliver pull in 3500 Division III! In Division V, yes, there are now several but that's also why there is no weight protection in that Division. Get your facts straight before posting!

In 5, no reason for protection, cause the way it used to be, was any production agricultral block. oliver 77 with a 310 or a 88 block was what you seen. 4 classes they had their border line sleepers,,,, one was an ollie 70. I dont belive that tractor had a production block for that model. Maybe he had a 77 engine under the hood?? even if he didnt, the 70 was your potential 88 in the 3500# div 3 class, back then,,,,, Chad

The only problem I have is with NATPA, not with the AC's. If you're going to have an RPM limit it should be for that model, not later models. As far as using power blocks in a JD for increased cubic inches, hows that different than using D17 or combine engine in a WC/WD? It's still not the engine that came in the tractor. I don't have any problem with either one, but if you let one brand upgrade, you have to let them all. As far as I'm concerned, in a speed limit class (Division III type classes) make sure the weight and hitch are right, and the rest doesn't matter to me. Mike

Mike, you're right. In a mph class, the rules could be so much simplier. Enforce mph, weight, hitch, & tire size. Safety, of course. That should eliminate 95% of what some pullers seem to enjoy arguing about. NATPA rules are hurting small town local pulls.

i agree. we have been there before. there too many chiefs and not enough indians. and 1 mega chief that wants all tracks to go his way.
i believe that you can have kick butt tractors for entertainment and still have a safe pull.

Dangerous, I had a similar experience here also. You are not alone. Some places welcome you & invite you back. But not here. Once the petty bickering starts it just keeps growing. This is suppose to be fun. Life's too short for this.

mlpankey, I agree with you. With all this obsession about stock/nonstock, I don"t understand why the red tractor with a stock production torque amplifier is not allowed to shift in stock class. Looks like NATPA made a special rule to help another color.
