Got a chance to read back through a couple of pages and saw a thread entitled "Who has the strongest G John Deeres". There was mention of a couple in the Michigan area so you guys might be able to help with a question I have. I am trying to identify who owns a unstyled G that pulls in southern Michigan. The speed he ran is what I remembered most and the driver always had a cigar in his mouth. The tractor was green with yellow tin wheels as opposed to the black G that was there too. It had smooth side shields with no names or stickers on it.

One fellow I talked to said the tractor came out of Ohio but he didn't know the owners name. Since I was short on time, I didn't get a chance to walk around that day. Anybody have an idea who owns this tractor? I would be interested in talking to him.

The G you saw is from OH. The guys name is Scott Burkin. I'm pretty sure that I have his number at home.

If you think Mr. Burkin would like to talk tractors, then please e-mail the number if you find it. Thanks.

That walkin Tall tractor owned by C. Foley in KY is super strong, won the King of the Hill Tunica in 2006. That thing must have pistons the size of 5 gallon buckets.

Most of the good running G's around the Central Michigan are Styled G's. Very few are unstyled.

Is it the one that would float the valves going down the track? I saw a nice one like that up by Grand Rapids. I thought the owner died. Bus Man has one also. Single front. It runs well..

Thanks anyway. The G I saw was a narrow front with two wheels. The pull was last summer. Maybe it was the fellow you mentioned who passed. I think Gary Baker was running that day, but I"m not sure. It"s hard enough to remember what I did last week, let alone last summer.

The G owned by Mike Langan that was built by Shawn Weins...The closest that anyone has come to building a competitive Div. IV type 2-cylinder

I'm trying to remember...that G that Shawn built was like 7.75" bore, 10.5" stroke I think. Nearly 1,000 inches. Custom block, steel crank, the works.
