what will i accomplish by putting a gas manifold and boring it 90 over on my 1943 all fuel JD b

I'll second that. 0.090" overbore with stock compression won't make much difference. Upping compression to 11:1 would help. Stick a crank in there and it will come to life. 7" is easy (decent power, mimimal grinding, no hole in the back wall), 7.5" is a little harder (more grinding), and you can go bigger but it starts to be a real PITA.
