odon machine and manufacturing is the machine shop that does these conversions has done multiple jd's and a wd45 that I know for sure he has also converted a 2cyl from gas to diesel

There is one around here..a JD 60 with a 350 V-8 Diesel in it.. Still uses the hand clutch as if it was original equipment..!! The kit was made/installed in Oden, Indiana..it even has a serial tag made and installed by them.. If it can be done in a 60, it can be done in the Unstyled ones too..

I am not sure where my pictures of it are..maybe I can find one..

The motor is mounted in the frame in the usual manor, only one notch on the left side for the oil filter unit.. Looks like a 3/8" adaptor plate between engine and JD crankcase.. New shaft has to be machined to fit the original clutch side parts, and a ring and pinion installed on that shaft, engaged in the v-8 engine...no clutch is used there, only the original JD clutch... It was at "Calvins Fall Harvest Festival", this year, but I don't think they plowed with it.. The Owner died not long ago, and the family still like to bring it and run it in parades.. They would certainly have pictures..if you can contact anyone at Calvins.. The Antique tractor club in Delaware, Ohio is probably where they belong, as members...

I "wasted" big block mopar (mopar people were mad) on just a common farmall M (IH people were insulted that I wasted a M). You would need a medic on standby for all of the JD 2-cyl fan(atics) stroking out.

I agree. Why waste money and a V-8 on a jd, they are only worth so much for scrap either way and worthless running.
