Light weight M front end?

I'm running a 560 pedestal w/ pressed steel now. Thinking about building a lighter, lower front. Pretty sure I can build it cheaper than buying it from a "carb shop". What size wheels and tires are others using? Do the spindles need to be angled? Thanks for any ideas.

I was thinking about starting from scratch with axle spindles and hubs from northern or tsc. welding them on a thick wall pipe or something for a pedestal with a heavy steel plate at the top to bolt to. Anybody do this? What size wheels and tires?

Farmall 340 has the same pedestal as the "C" but already has 6 bolt hubs. Mount the same as AC said, 3X15 rims & 4X15 tires gives a lower stance & the distance from the frame is proportioned right. Looks great & weighs 60 couple lbs.

Turn the M steering plate where the pedistal bolts to 90 degrees, redrill 4 holes, take 1 from a "C" bolt it up, get ALLIS B or Massey 22 hubs, re-use C bearings, bolt hubs on, get 1/2 x 20 full thread socket cap screws for studs, and bolt on a set of 4 x 4.5" weld draglights. Looks cool, its cheap, it looks factory. ...AC

So you�re saying that Allis B hubs with bolt up to a Farmall �C� pedestal? Also what is the bolt pattern of the Allis hubs?

Yep. I know for a fact Mas 22 hubs will, because I put a set on the front of Liz Trowbridge's little NATPA Farmall C and it looks pretty good. The B or C Allis hubs I have here take the same bearings and seals, and I am pretty darn sure I tried them. I'm positive I tried them.. The bolt pattern is either 5 x 4.5 or 5 x 4 3/4. The only thing I dont like is that the offset is just a hair (1.5 inches total at most) wider than I wished. ..AC
