I have my pulling sled for sale, and am thinking of building another tractor down the road. I used to run a D21 for stock pulling, and would now like to build a light Pro-Stock tractor. The weight would be 7000lb, and I would have to have 200lb of moveable weight. Does anybody know of anyone who has had experience with one this light? Are there handling issues? Our cube limit is 401, so it would be less costly to destroke a 426, than bring up the 301. I would be building an alky. Alcohol is not allowed in our heavier Pro Stock classes.

A guy around here pulled in a 5500lb class last year with one but it didn't have any bracket for weights or anything like that on it. And he cleaned house too!!

I know a guy who pulled a D-21 for years that made 5500# with 20.8 38's. It had everything aluminum including axel housings. To bad it ran for crap, I think he got some poor sucker in VA to buy it eventully

Dennis Johnson from Fairbury,NE used to pull a D-21 alky burner (Shagnasty) in the 6000 SS class with room to spare and he was running 30.5x32's.It took alot of work to get it there.

He has aluminmin (spelling?) frame rails and not a fullset of gears in the trans and what ever else you can do to make it lighter. He is banned from the class!
Its pretty naked!
