Hello We had a tractor accident one came off a trailer during loading tonight. Pulls located at steamorama windsor pa, THe fellow puller was from danville pa. As far as I could tell he was ok other than a severly broken leg. If you all would send a prayer for him. I'm sure he would appreciate it. Please everybody take extreme care with the handling of tractors. I never thought I would see or be involved in one well that wasn't true. I've slip around getting on the trailer before but never actually lost. Tonight I seen a nasty thing thanks be to god for it not being any worse. take care

Big time reality check for sure. The driver in this accident probably logs twice as much seat time on a tractor farming during a year as 90% of the rest of the pullers at most pulls. And with all the hills their family farms he's surely been in some sticky situations before and came out clean. Yet all that experience still didn't prevent the accident (although it proably could have been worse with a less experienced driver). Some parade/pullers only w/little or no "real" tractor driving experience really give me the willies at times as they operate their machines on and off the track, and yet this one drives home the point(at least for me) that we're all susceptible to an accident on any given day.

Just want you all to know that my brother-in-law Mike is home from the hospital and recuperating. Quite a nerve-wracking time for us all. Many thanks from the family to all who have offered their assistance and prayers. It is very much appreciated. It's great to know that we have the caring and support of so many thoughtful people. The hardest part now will probably be to keep Mike sitting still and patient while he recuperates!!! Smiles. Please, all of you, be careful out there.

I sure would like to see more guys use an actual ramp for their middle ramp. I see guys with pricey trucks and trailers and bringing in nice tractors and they were too cheap to spend an extra 75 or 100 dollars when they bought the trailer. This is senseless and an accident waiting to happen. We all have fire extinquisers and kill switches because we have it in our rules, but dont forget about highway safety and safety during loading and unloading, accidents can and do happen and this is unfortunate, but at least by going the extra mile, we might be able to avoid such things.
