Early one with the "dry clutch" ahead of it? Or a late direct drive unit?

been there done that. stock 4430 with a weak powershift. Had no problems until I went to downshift at the end of the pull. It did not catch and I just stopped moving. Seen another pull and looked like everything went perfect.

wonder if it would hold up for a pro field or hot farm class at about 3000 rpms

I have heard, HEARD, it told that they are only good to about 300 Horsepower. The transmission pump needs to be adjusted. Ask this question on the John Deere site, and maybe one of the mechanics from John Deere can tell you.
