i've been pulling a farmall 560 all year and would like to step it up this winter. i have a c-263 now. planning on going to a 301 because everyone claims its easy and a better starting platform. my question is do i keep my intake, carb, ect. to put on the new motor. or do i buy a complete motor. or should i just build the one i have? thank you dave

If your club won"t let you run a 301, you shouldn"t waste your time with the club. It"s a direct factory replacement engine. Every piece in a 301 will fit in a 263.

The best bet is to just get a complete 301 from an 806 or 715 and freshen it up and run it. This way the manifold, carb, dist, governor, etc will already be set up for the 301. this would probably be the cheapest and safest way to do it.
