Got a DT 466 sitting around and a farmall 460. What do I need to put that motor in? I have heard that I will need a 666 back plate from a 312 diesel. Where can I find a back plate like that? Will any others work? What flywheel do I use? Are the motor mounts the same?

It's gonna take some work. 312 rear plate might bolt up, 312 from ealry 686 is also the same. You'll also have to see if a flywheel from a 666/686 312 will bolt up. The next problem you'll run into is the frame rails, the 466 front cover will be too wide to fit between them. A 312 front cover might be the answer, but once again, I don't know if it fits a 466. Check with salvage yards. The 466 front cover could be milled down to fit as well.
