I was reading through some of the archives and I noticed you mentioned you were experimenting with fuel injection on tractors. I would like to run my IH 301 like that. I would appreciate any information you would be willing to share. Thanks

YES! There are several ways of doing it. I chose multi port fuel injection. Its a little more difficult to dial in. OR you can go with a Chevy throttle body style, but that includes building an adapter plate to a downdraft manifold. The Chevy TBI is the easiest to adapt. Can work off the point trigger to activate the injectors in a batch fire setup. Im looking into other ways to operate the MPFI set up I built for my tractor, which will be a straight batch fire with 3 injectors. Im looking into the MSD timing control box to control the injectors, and if it does what I think it will do, I can advance, or retard the impulse signals, to help dial in a more exact time for the injectors to fire. The thing is, no computer,, no 02 sensors, and control the amount of fuel by altering the fuel rail pressure, higher for more fuel, lower pressure for less fuel, all done with a regulator, or a pill adapted into the fuel rail. I was more thinking on the lines of alcohol injection, once I reached a certain rpm,, revs up on gasoline, then switches over to methanol and make the run, and switches back to the carb and gasoline for driving it around the pits. Right now its in its primative stages, Ive built the fuel rail, and a high pressure pump that can mount anywhere on the tractor. Like I said, its a multi port set up Im building, so it has 3 injectors, not one. There are so many retro kits to do a EFI swap, and its mainly buying a kit that has all the electrical parts, and Id be happy to pass the info on. High Octane
