Does anyone know what the weight difference would be between an 18x38" pressed steel wheel and a five star 38" Cockshutt wheel that has been widened to 18"? The Cockshutt center is the lighter of the Cockshutt centers and a light gage steel was used to widen the wheels. The pressed steele are not the real light ones. I"m trying to find out how much weight it will cut off without taking tires off wheels ect so if you can help I would be thankfull.

Not sure who you are but I don't think your my neighbor. Never have been to and or pulled at New London and my tractor has been ready and pulling for the past four years. I,m just trying to take some weight off by changing rims but not sure if I can loose that much so I'm asking if anyone knows for sure or not. Maybe that's why nobody responding to my forums because they think I'm this other guy !!!

Yep... Wrong guy... Thought you were someone else who is currently building one. I can't help you much with the rim weight question. My choice was obvious... JD cast centers versus pressed steel??? Good luck with your setup. Mounting and dismounting tractor tires can be a real pain and ruin your day.
