Look up Robert Gutierrez of Allenton, MI. He has built a 5500lb. V8 hot rod just as you have described.

Link

cut and paste for a photo of it. He calls it Burro Loco.

"Good Chevy Engine" is an oxymoron. Anybody who wants to put one in a tractor, whatever the brand might be, is simply a moron.

He must be looking for more weight. Sounds like wanting to put a boat anchor on a good tractor.

Don't take the factory A flywheel past 1500rpms. Do you have access to a complete machineshop and lots of $$$ ? Mostly it is installing a ring & pinion in the A's crankcase. And building support for the axial & linear loads for the pinion & newly built ring gear shaft.

Find a 3010 rear end, put the A sheetmetal on it, least it will all be Deere.

I remember something about that. Engine was mounted crosswise and tractor was driven thru the belt pully. Or whatever.

Nope, the engine was mounted just as it would be in the car and they did some sort of adapter of some kind to make the connection to the trransmission.

However it is done it should make a good puller. I think what I remember is from a long time back.

Are you getting any rains? It has been NM hot and dry here.

Be careful
