I have a Farmall 460 that pulls pretty decent. A friend has a AC WD 45 and it pulls good. Neither is exactly stock, but both manage to get into the stock classes. Check the rules of the group youo intend to pull with, see what is legal before you go too far.

I have pulled a bunch of orange tractors over the years; nothing professional. And, yes, I have been beat many times; BUT I have also won a bunch of trophies riding orange paint. For their weight they are rip snortin' machines.

Life is not just black and white or Red and Green. Victory on a renegade "horse" is really sweet. Do a good job on the basics and the big boys will remember when you come to town.

Don't listen to cheap n cheezey, for the money you can build a heck of a good tractor. First check your rules and your cash and start looking for parts. Pull what you like and have fun!

One pull I went to last year there was a WD45 and he never took it off the trailer until it was his turn to pull, but in both 4500 and 5500 there was 40 plus tractors and a good share of them weren't stock. Anyways this guy comes from no where and and takes 1st in 4500 and 2nd in 5500 beating on JD G's,super M's, and some tough Massey's. I'm sure he wasn't stock but either way people new he was there!

The old AC's were a crude afair, basicly the rear ends on them were built like the old farmall regulars and F-20,30. AC just didn't have it together when they were trying to design a farm tractor.I would say that any AC made after the AC-WD45 era would be a little less of a joke.GO CHEAP,THEN GO BROKE.

Shawn;

Noticed your address. I live between Cortland and Ithaca. I suspect that you could start at 4000 or less with a WD-45; depending on how stock you had to be with appearance. We used to pull a WC in 3000. With me driving it scaled 2750; and I have not skipped many meals in my life. If it will help you can reach me at (607) 898-3543.
