I had three hooks on my M Turbo last week and holy cow are these things fun. I pulled in 1st for the first hook and she only built a bout 2 psi boost and never dropped any rpm's, full pull. I was even pulling in the 6500lb class when i weighed 5300. These motors really sound good with a turbo.

Yeah, they are definately alot of fun. I love that whirling turbo sound creeping around the pits. I got this new engine started yesterday with the big turbo and 4" pipe....wow, ear ringing turbo whine. After I got mine lined out with the old engine and small turbo I pulled mine in 4th gear, but the clutch will not last long like that. I would suggest you put a better clutch and beef up the pressure plate if you intend on doing much pulling. My old engine was a 263 with fire crater pistons and an 8574 head. I turned it 2500RPM with 12psi under the carb(about 15 at the compressor). If you pull yours in a higher gear it will make more boost and really come alive.

Have fun with it! You will get hungry for more after a little while ;).

Man all this turbo talk is sure trying to turn wheels within the Farmall Garage. Might be just what The Farmall needs to make it run a little better.

Did you change anything with the fuel pump or are you running a different pump than stock on the M. Are you going to inject the water right after the comp. wheel or in the area of the intake port? Just curious if you dont want to tell thats cool.

Oh. JDGNut if you were wandering the big tractor is getting close that we are building for a guy. His will have to do for now because most of our old Pro parts are in it.

Sounds good.. Which set of runs are you building the tractor to run under??? Someone needs to sponser a Texas Championship or something to get all the clubs together for one big pull... JDGnut

I am running a Holley EFI pump with a return style regulator. It is feeding a Holley carb in blow through fashion. The intake is tubular with the flow direction reversed so the carb is on top. I am going to inject both stages of water between the carb and turbo. I figure this will insure good distribution. I thought about injecting it in the intake plenium, but I was afraid it could have poor distribution between cylinders.

I have a couple gallons of paint. Bring them up north, we'll run them through the paint booth...that is if you don't mind the Farmall John Deere green!! Oh well, paint don't make 'em pull!

I hope to make the Leroy pull if all goes well. I have to finish the compressor piping and water injection plumbing/wiring along with a few other odds and ins. Finishing the tire cutting could be a hold up, but maybe I can talk the wife into shop time next week :).

The 15.5's are standing up against my fence behind the house....they are for sale cheap. I could barely load the engine before they broke loose, so 18.4's were in order. In Cisco I pulled within about 10-15ft of the V8s with the 18.4's....course they could have regeared the sled...who knows.

I kindof cheated on paint. I just got black epoxy primer to cover up the bare metal and body filler. It is far from finished.

You do need to get that G painted. Did you have to change the case from that gear shift breaking in Glenrose?

Well.. the hood is also in Black Epoxy.. (and spotted with filler..) I'll be at Leroy.. but not sure about the tractor... Might have the engine back together... but not sure about the hood... and the tires will still be uncut...

I have the parts to fix the shifter.. but its not fixed.. As long as I'm the only one driving, and don't pull up the shifter.. All is good...

Just curious about the tires for another little project...
