I was taching my m with a new governor spring, It was around 1960rpms, I need to get it to 1760. I adjusted the limiter bolt and got it down, would it be better to get a weaker spring so I can have more travel in the throttle?

Thanks, JIMBO2

Ive had to put a longer bolt in the bottom to get them to go a bit lower in rpm with the stiffer spring. The hand lever (go lever) may not go back as far as it did, so dont try to force it back and bend or break the governor linkage, or the stop bolt. Governor will still open the carb to WOT if the rpm drop and the lever stays in wide open if the load demands it at 1/2 throttle or more, but less than wide open. The stiffer spring takes up slack in the linkages, so make careful adjustments on all the throttle linkage and make sure everything isnt rusted up. When th slack is taken out of the linkage, the linkage gets just a tad further away from the front of the housing, and the longer bolt will reach out and still bring the rpms back down to where you need them.
