M-H 44 pulling hitch ideas

Going tobuild a hitch for our 44 and was wondering which everyone prefers and why. I can either build it so that it's pulling off of the pin under the tractor where the drawbar attaches or build it so that it is connected to just the hitch frame behind the axle. It will be adjustable for height either way but what are the pros or cons of either design?

Jeff,just leave it stationary and no higher than 16 inches high and you will be fine.Hope this helps.

Helps alot!! And since I know that you have yours sat that same way on your Oliver I am gonna use your tape measure to check mine too! LOL!!! I really don't think you have anything to worry about from the 44. Now my 88 with those new tires..... LOL!!!! OH I did some serious modifications to the 88 this year, took the oil bath air filter off and put a K&N on.. I'm ready now!!!! Hahahaha!!!

Gonna wax it next week for the aerodynamics,It has such a slick paint job on it ya know....

I have 4 that I'am pulling from the pin,,which I feel better about,,and 2 from the axle bolts which I feel maybe gives better down force because you are hooked at a higher point on the tractor.It's your call though.

I borrowed one from a friend that has a drawbar attached to the pin and an adjuster built onto the brackets on the side. Gonna try it and see how it does. Since this is basically a stock tractor and I'll be in 1st gear I figure it should do about as good as anything. Heck if not I'll make something else.
