Whats the difference in the P pumps and the other types of injector pumps. How do you identify one and what makes it better? I know how a diesel works, i'm just not very familiar with this sort of think.

Yes your dodges and your 466's have rotary pumps.... in 1994 Dodge went to a P style pump....

I recently traded for some 466 blocks and various pieces(about enough to make one whole motor). I also have a 91 dodge with a 5.9. Am i right in saying that the pumps on 466 ag motors and the pump on my dodge are all rotary style a pumps?

the p pump has 6 plungers, in a row, to do the pumping compaired to two or four on a rosamaster the lines, come off the end. and one plunger on a model 100 bosch the lines are in a circle coming out the top. the A pump also has the lines in a row but the housing is smaller. the inline pumps are more durable than the distubitor types but many clases are stuck with stock type pumps. the p pump can be built for big fuel flow for the same price as a rosamaster but last longer and have more output. go to a jd dealer and look for a 4430-55 that will have a a pump than find a 4555-4960 that will have a p pump
