i have a 46 jd a has any one ever got in 4,000 l/b class ? what will i need to do ?

mike what size tires did you use ? i have midwest wheels 38s by 20 wide 75 pounds 18.4 38s tires 205 pounds .too hevy ? need to have my front pedistal for rules . i did all the other stuff radiator etc . hand start so no starter, battery . what do you think . thanks for your advice.

I made 3500# once with my early styled A, so 4000# is straight-forward. Light radiator, remove fanshaft, air cleaner, main gas tank (use the 1 gallon starting tank), light weight wide front (lose the whole cast pedistal), sheet metal rear cover, light seat mount/platform, only 3 gal trans oil, light rear wheels (100#), light tires (coop, Firestone Field & Road), weld on rear hubs (1/2" plate), cut-off extra axle length. Put your battery out front, make your rear weight brackets removeable, light hitch and wheely bars. Good luck, Mike
