What is the max bore anyone has heard for an 820 or 830 JD? I am using a stock block and will be ordering custom pistons. Thanks!

I have heard of some boring the blocks to6.5" .375" over like thet have been doing to all the R's for years I think that would be okay as long as you ultrasounded 6.375" maybe to be safe .don't have a clue who to get pistons from though.Paul

The factory max is .125 over. My father and I pull with a 56 820 modified tractor bored out .125. since the rod journals are hollow so I would not recommend stroking the crank.

why not stroke the crank? there is one around here 10" a stroke. runs real good!

You are already running 16-1 compression ratio. Also as I stated the crank journals are hollow and can break the crank. You a running with a time bomb if you stroke a 820. Just my opinion.
