I don't know why I'm even reponding to this, besides it's midnight, and I can't get to sleep. hear is my thoughts. Pulling is fun. It's a pleasing past time. Something to do in the summer evenings, for me and others like me, who think Golf S**ks. My oppinion is as long as you got your old Iron running well, who cares what someone else has or hasn't got,or what the rules are. If you know how to pull a tractor and balance it, you've got just as much chance as anyone else. That is if you've got your perverbial crap together. I think everyone needs to grow up, and quit grumping about this rule favors that group of pullers, or this rule isn't fair, or that rule isn't fair. Who cares, just be thankful that we live in a country where we got money to go out and enjoy ourselves like we do. Just think of those poor s.o.b.'s in Afganistan. All they can argue about is that their breed of horse or mule, can pack more Ak-47's or goat hides, or whatever than the next guys. Besides IH fan if you've realy got a 560, than you've got a good tractor, you shouldn't worry about who brings what to the pulls. You ought to be a big dawg in you weight class. Just be thankful, and quit stirring the pot. Sorry such a long post. I wanted to write util I got sleepy. Good night and later on, Greg H.

you guys are missing the point, we can't play with our 460 560 IHs in the Div 2 class for what reason is not clear when it is legal to run a diferent make tractor thats newer the the cut off year for Div2, but if we cut up our tractor and biuld a 20,000$ motor we are welcome to pull Div5 I thought that the NATPA was formed to make a level playing feild and get away from each club with their own rules different from the next club down the road.

Winning at a NATPA pull is about who you are, how much money you have and what position you hold on the board!! If you have this in the NATPA you are a guaranteed winner.

Go to the NATPA National Pull results in the NATPA website and see who the winners really were. One new board member won the 4000 Div IV (and he was a frequent winner before he was a board member). Also Board Members won the 7500 Div IV and 8500 Div III classes and I'm sure all these guys will tell you they are not rich. And I think they built their own tractors, two for sure. Let's see, that is 3 winners out of 44 classes. That's not even 10%. Most pullers are smart enough to know that other pullers will not let you win because you have money and are a board member. In fact, those are two good reasons everyone is out to beat you and someone usually will.

So the offiers don't win all the calsses. Is it OK to overlook all the unfair rules? Should we turn our heads to rules only being enfroced on some tractors? Should we not worry about dues and entry fees missing and unaccounted for. The NATPA is one screwed up mess and you want us to close our eyes and give them more money.

yea but we cant pull our 4010 and you can brag because you beat a 2cyl. Just like the real world 4010 vs 560 super stock thats where your 560 belongs and once again you cry foul. You would probably want 3423R.P.M. also!!!! So keep crying someday maybe you will win.....

Let's pull buddy. What do you want to get beat by a super M, 560, 856, 1066, or a 1586???? None of them sit in the barn and I've pulled them all at one time or another. I've spanked several JD 70's with a 52hp super M and i've also been beat. All I'm saying is antique classification need's to update a little bit.. Let's just pull and have fun...

I like to pull no matter what the rules are and I do pull a DEERE and it makes no difference to me if I pull against 460s 560s or whatever but I think the rules were wrote to include the 30 model deere's because there were no changes after the 20s other than cosmetic and they weren't even tested at nebraska. thanks lets pull and have fun

This does not mean a JD with a power block bored out with an heisler head. But that is what they want you to belive!

it's pretty easy to spot a power block and a heisler head, it's the internal mods that are hard to spot - in any color tractor

Yeah really!You can't see the crankshaft throw and welded rods.You sure can hear the JD's but the M Farmalls and Olivers it is hard to tell.I went to a pull in the winter and there were G Deeres pulling in Div 2 with nine inch plus stroke.

After reading comments posted on this site about tractor pulling you people act like kids in a sand box fighting over toys.Where has the fun gone to.I am member of a tractor club in Alberta,Canada and we have tractor pulls at our annual show.It is not competition pull.Our club members do it for the fun and to entertain the people who come to see the show.We could really care less what pistons or head someone has on their engine as long as the unit is in safe working order.From what I have have seen written your tractor pulls are to see who has the most powerful tractor there is no fun left in them.

NATPA members make the rules that the Tech Committee and Board have to enforce! Members vote in all the rules. Some of the rules then need clarification by the Tech Committee and Board. And that can cause a backlash from both sides.

If pullers don't complain to whoever is teching tractors or a Board member when they think another tractor is illegal, they shouldn't complain about them not enforcing the rules.

And those who do complain are usually called crybabies or worse - even when they are right.

If they were made by the members, why can't all the members vote on them. Why are we paying dues and high entry fees? So we can do all the work ourselves? Next you will be telling us to do our own flagging, and then to bring our own sled and scales. This will make it easy on the board menbers. They won't have anything to do but count their (our) money. H E L L, let them stay home and we can have our own pull and just send them the money?
