What is the difference on maxing out stock pump and an A pulling pump

We have just got an IH 856 and wanted to set it up for Turbo class, and we are new to the this. We have already had the stock pump maxed out by a Diesel shop. I was wondering how much more fuel you could get out of the A pump than the stock and if the A pump was an inline pump or rotary style. I know that we need bigger lines and injectors, but i was wondering if it is worth spending the extra money for an A pump or the stock rotary pump will do.

It all depends on how you are building your tractor. Are you running in a hot farm class or a super farm class what are you allowed to turn rpm wise? The a pump is a inline piston pump it will give you quicker delivery and higher pressure.Some hot farm classes only allow the stock pump. I would go with a P-pump if you can.E-mail me if you have any questions Dave
