On the Supers, you can just pull off the brakes, the bearing cage, and pull the pinion shafts right out, without taking anymore apart. Straight H-M"s you have to tear the final drive apart, due to the brake pinion shaft bearing cages not passing by the bull gears. The kit installs right back uopn reassembly. Chad

So,, no, you dont have to pull the differential, or the spiders even out of the tractor. Chad

Yep. have done many 101's, 44's, 444's. They are very simular to the olivers,,, Would need the whole differential, from brake drum to brake drum. It all hides behind the brake cover plate. Chad

I can tell you that unless you have disc brakes or band brakes, it will be a chore. I had shoe brakes and went to band brakes from a 1948 MH 44 and was able to make it work. No room for the shoe brake backing plates. You could however keep the shoe brakes on one side.

I'm interested in getting one,I'm still dont understand how you connect the brake pinions together? Is it hollow through the differential where the brake pinions go?I thought there were spyder gears in there. Thanks again.

The differential itself is hollow, the pinion shafts are not, so we have to bore them to put the "axle" thru the pinion shafts. We would need both pinion shafts, and one brake cover. It just slides in when you put the pinion shafts back in the tractor, put the brakes back on, adjust the clutch tension and your done. 574-893-7437 Chad
