JD G manifold

I have a 1947 JD G with 75+hp with a stock gas manifold. Will any certain manifold help me get more horsepower out of my tractor? Thanks.

The Heisler and Johnson manifolds are generally considered more desirable than the F1074R JD manifold. They do not have the 90 degree bend in the intake like the JD, but have a gradual sloping intake tract. There were actually 2 differant gas manifolds produced by JD for the G. I had one of these earlier manifolds on a GM I owned years ago, but I can't remember the casting number on it, it had the F prefix and R suffix, but it was a 3 digit number, and yes it was a cold manifold. Murphy Motor service now sells the Jerry manifold, a large manifold for big motor set-ups. They sell for around $250. I'm guessing your G is under 500 c.i., so you probably wouldn't see much differance between any of them.
