I just perchased a JD 5020. I would like to pull in the local circit this year. It has an aftermarket turbo from M&W on it, I think the turbo is a 3 to 3-1/2 inch. The fuel pump is a rosa-master, I think that the pump is original, but it says on the side of the pump that it is set up for the turbo. The tractor does not throw much smoke under load, therfor I beleive that it is not getting enough fuel. I know that the rosa-master pump should be enough to get the job done and I was wondering if anyone could help? Does anyone know how to get more horsepower out of this tractor without spending a lot of money?

I have a 5020 that I put a turbo on. Even with the fuel screw turned all the way it doesn't smoke. I've been told there are different leaf springs you can get that will allow a little more adjustment, but I haven't tried it yet. Remember smoke is wasted fuel, if it burns clean its making power out of the fuel. One other thing I did was put the govenor spring from an IH combine in the pump, it turns about 3000 rpm (no load) vs. 2500 rpm with the old spring. Check the rules where your gonna pull, around here there pretty lax.
