Not sure exactly what your setup is but here is what I have seen. My dad had one he used to run in from 84 to 87. He had a couple of melt downs...no boost gauge and no waste gate. You should keep these items. It did a lot of damage burnt a hole between cyl 2 & 3 damaging the gasket, block and head. We learned you need to keep the boost down to 10 to 15 lbs. He ran it with a two barrel origionally then after a year put a four barrel on it. He had a homade waste gate built on it which helped it to live longer. He used to pull 4th gear in the 6500, 3rd 8500. He dynoed it once with the two barrel, it ran 120 hp. Not sure exactly of the high rpm but I believe it was around 3000 to 3500. He did compete against some 4430 JDs, 1066 and 1466 in the 10500....he usually finished 2nd or 3rd. Would like to see some pics of yours.

I have not been able to post at home due to admin on this site not unlocking my IP, so I am posting at work. Anyone emailing the person who can help would be appreciated.

I am blowing through a 2bbl Holley. I was running 12psi at 2500RPM at the end of the season. When I went to 18.4x38's I still could not get the power to the ground, and the clutch also let go.

Right now I am having an engine built for next season. It will have a custom clutch and flywheel setup with a 12-13" clutch depending on what my machinist can squeeze into the new flywheel I am having built. The engine will be capable of 5k RPM and as much boost as the compressor will deliver. I am starting with the little T3 which will limit things to about 4K RPM and 15PSI at first. After I get that worked out I will bump the turbo size and see what happens.

Should be a fun ride at 20 MPH pulling speed ;)

Not sure what TurboS10 has been running for boost.. he"s using a two barrel carb...I believe its turbo-carb-intercooler-intake on his setup... I thinke he"ll have a few new tricks up his sleeve by the end of 07... (hopefully by this summer..) He"s been having some problems posting on the YT forums... JDGnut

great! i am blowing through the stock carb and am using a BOV type pressure relief to control boost. I believe this helps keep the turbo RPMs up. As far as the motor RPM's, i wont be running any faster than 1500rpm. I know the potential hp gains are massive above that but the bottom ends in these are less than desirable for high rpms. If this thing runs well enough, i already have plans to build a better motor. Maybe destroking, balancing, and some new maincaps and bolts? Sure cant wait to hook it! If i knew how to post pictures on here i would!

That has to be one of the best jobs I"ve ever seen! You can"t tell by the photo it"s running a turbo. I would like to see some photos with the hood off. :)
I bet it turns heads when you crank it up and hear the whine of the turbo!

Sorry about the wait guys, i have a second job to pay for this thing. Great thanks to whoever posted the picture!!I will post a few more over there if you would like to move them. To answer a few questions, i hand built a manifold to utilize the stock exaust hole and apearence of the intake. Lots of work but it paid off. I built a 4 axis adjustable hitch last winter that attaches to the stock pto bolts. I also built my own frontend out of some old auger spindles and tires. The tube pedestal and both tires weigh right at 49lbs. Chad S, you would be suprised how easy it is to blow through these old tractor carbs. A special fuel source is the key, maybe more on that later?? Thanks for all of your help and i would love to answer more questions. Just talkin to poeple about this is a great reward for me!
