Are tulip valves the thing to use in a restricted head to gain more flow or velocity.

You rarely find tulip valves in intake ports anymore. Still used in exhausts though. I never use tulips on intakes, especially on tractor heads. Most tractor heads have the runners 90 degrees to the intake valve, so you need a nail head valve to make these flow. Exhaust is less sensitive.

They seem to be typically used in just hemispherical combustion chambers. Maybe I should say I have heard that they work best there.
