I've seen some where in this form about a guy that stroked a moline z using a spacer between the case and the jugs. Using the piston you have, which would work for me as I have 1/8 over alum. piston already. I guess the questions I have is how far can you stroke a moline z 1" 3/4"1/2" and is this spacer deal lagit? and what would you make the spacers out of alum.
Thanks Rick

You can stroke one about 1/2" or maybe 3/4" with the stock rod and no spacer under the block. You can find an automotive piston with a shorter deck height to compensate. The stock rods and crankcase will take some grinding to make it swing.

I would suggest talking to Richard Kenyon. He has several combos for these engines. Spacers work great especially to use an existing rod, however depending on the club, if they see a spacer, you are not legal. Also remember that you can space only so far due to your vertical rocker arm on the side of the engine. It still needs to contact the cam. I"ve heard of 6.5" stroke Z engines. There used to be a STRONG one called "Skinny Minnie" I saw in Ohio.

You better make darn sure tyhe rules let you run a spacer like that. Furthermore, what kind of pistons exactly are those?
