Will a 720/730 series gas block bolt up to a 70 gas?

Its pretty well here in black and white before you. G block will not bolt up to 70 gas, only the 70 all fuel. 720-730 block has no spark plug holes, plugs were in the head, and used a totally different piston style and size than the 70's and G's.

Hello,
Sorry, but it will not work. JD moved the spark plug location from the block to the head on the 720/730 series. Don't know if you use the 720/730 head it might. I am wondering if going the other way might work. How about a JD G block? At least that the direction I'm looking at now.

Good luck and have fun with her.

A "G" block wont work on a 70 either- UNLESS its a all fuel 70.

Mornin'

Will the JD G block bolt to case? Will the JD 70 head bolt to the JD G block? Might give larger cubic inch to start at 6 1/8" and bore up from there. And JD G pistons are easier to find. I'm just asking, can't find JD 70 LP pistons. Lots of afermarket G parts.

Look for a set of M&W ap141's- thats a 6 1/8 piston for a 70 LP- there WAS a set on ebay- I'm thinking they are in MO but cant remember they did not sell. thats a 250 overbore on your 70lp and would give it a 8.5:1 compression ratio.
G and 70 gas blocks and heads ARE NOT compatible whats so ever.

The 70G has 10 head studs, the G only has 9. I am 99.9% sure the G block will not bolt to the 70G crankcase.
