Can anyone tell me if the 460 crank and 560 crank, gas models, are interchangeable?

If c-301 Pistons are the same as an 806, and u say that the c 221 block can be bored to fit the pistons then can you still run a sleeve? will the bloke be able to handle another .040 after that?

806 gas was a C-301. No sleeves in the 301, they run on the bare block, just like the sleeveless 263 combine engine. Yes, they can go out to .060 overbore,,, but once its that far, there is no gong back without alot of money spent to sleeve it back. ChadS

So there is no difference in the blocks them selfs between the c221 and the c301 other than the bore size?

Thats right, but will swap out. you can use the 263-301 crank, 460-856 rods and best is a 301 piston set, or a ross flat top piston. Go find a junk 715 IH combine, get a C-301 off it, swap the timing cover, water pump, etc etc and have cheap HP upgrade. Chad

What would your interpretation of this rule,
"Original engine and chassis parts"
Trying to determine if a 560 or 806 gas would be legal in a 460...appreciate anyone's thoughts on this...

Well,,,,, they are identical in outside appearence,,,,, maybe the timing cover, and the front mounts may be different on the 460,,,,, but its all interchangable,,, the 460 rails are drilled for both front mount designs,,, some, mounted over the top of the rails,,, some mounted inside the rails,,, so Id keep the 460 block and timing cover in the 460. Find ya a combine engine,, bore the 460 block to the 301, put in the combine crank, and go with it. Let em dispute whats on the inside. But, no arguement on the outside appearence. JMHO,, Chad
