I am wondering how far you can bore an M block and what pistons, sleeves, cam etc Im looking for about a hundred horsepower.

M blocks can get thin at the bottom at 4.25. Takes a real good block, if they have rusted or flaky rust on the cyl castings in the water jackets,, find a new block. Good blocks are out there still,,, just have to look for a newer model M. 450 blocks are better, and can get bigger bores and still keep the original block. its gona take a 1 inch stroker to get 100 hp, (6.25) Not hard to build, and alot more you can do with them down the road if more is needed. Stock rods, shaved down for clearence, and a piston with a close compression height and a small wrist pin so the piston can be located to comprensate for a slight difference in piston height.
