Just a quick note the 153 that is in the farmall 504 will not match up bellhousing wise. You need a 153 that is used as an industrial (air compressor, combine etc.) these will have the rounded bellhousing to match up to the C

A motor from a 504 will also bolt in there. Makes a good reliable 50hp puller out of them. My brother had one that made some people a little upset!

What did he use for a poliet bearing in the back of the crank for the drive shaft?
Thanks

Don't know what they used. He bought the tractor with that motor in it already, but they said it was an easy swap.

find a 135 or 153 engine from a power unit or combine. Had a Bn with a 135 in it could pull up to 4500 pound class. Didn't get kicked around very often.Thought about building another with the 153 engine.

460anger, My dad and I are JD "A" pullers, but he has three "C" Farmalls (not running) and would like to build a puller out of one. He has a good U2 power unit. Would that be something good to base an engine off of? He is thinking of stroking one. Wants light, fast, and reliable. Something to play ball with AC's, etc.. Have not seen one in our area of Texas. Would one make a good Div. III type tractor or are there other issues with them?

TKS,

Hi Marcus, I think they would make a good puller. If you were going to stroke a Farmall C, who would do the crank? The only problem you might have would be someone with a duel range tranny with a big engine, like the Massy Fergusons.

What are the rules on a C135/C146/C143 block. The C153 was also used in a tractor. The C146 was used in a crawler. All are based on the C113 block.
