Go to Tunica Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 and you'll get a good idea. The best of the best will be there from Farmstock to Open. One side pulls John Deere only in the King of the Hill class. Then the winner of the King of the Hill John Deere pulls against the King of the Hill "All Others" class to find the ULTIMATE King of the Hill Winner. Last year's John Deere KOH was Queen of the Hill Joyce Taylor of Bradford, Arkansas on a Black John Deere G, "Black Widow". Unfortunately for her, the Moline in the all others class could have been named "The Exterminator" as he, I believe Dan Paumier, beat her in the John Deere VS. "All others" challenge. I don't recall a John Deere ever winning the final KOH.

That question is a contradiction of words----good pulling and JD G do not coincide--there are a lot that pull, but they are just in it for the "social aspect"

I am in no wise a JD man as you can tell from my post above, but words like GOOD and BEST are relative terms, especially when used with specifics like JD G. It's sort of like saying who makes the best plastic forks and spoons? Who makes the best paint in an aerosol can? They get the job done for the job they were intended to do. Let me ask you this. How many Moline GVIs or GBDs with 800HD engines, hopped up Farmall 460s or 560s, or Massey 44-6s do you see pulling in the 4 MPH heavy classes? Not too many because that's not what their built for. I have seen one John Deere 820 or 830, I can't remember for sure, that pulled at Tunica that was capable of pulling 12 MPH classes easily. It was probably a $50,000.00 tractor, but dang it was stout and a JD to boot. It takes a heck of a JD to impress me, but some of the JDs people are building now do just that. (I still liked your comment though. Got to get one in every now and then myself. HEE HEE)
