looking for a good machine shop or someone that knows what to do to a mh 55 head to get some more hp.have stock bore,turning about 20% over rpm.

I am not sure on the 55s but on the 44s there is no such thing as a propane head. They increased the compression with the pistons. Propane maninfold will help though. I agree with the other folks however that a little clean-up here and there with a die grinder will do wonders at 20% over rpm.

Like he says, start with the LP head. Then have the valves ground and the ports cleaned up. At 20% over stock RPM, you don't need/can't use much more.

Find a head from an LP model. They have smaller cumbustion chambers for higher compression.
