Pretty happy with power in my M. Just can't seem to get it hooked up on the track. Pulling Antique Div. 2 5500 & 6500. Have a 1/2 worn set of 14.9's on 14" rims and a new set of 14.9 Firestones on 12" rims. Not a lot of luck with either one. Any suggestions ?

My M has 80%new 16.9-38 firestones, I run them @about 7#. Left tire less preasure than the right one (to pull straight). Every tractor is different and this works for me. (You want as many bars on the track as possable, giving a flat traction hole @ the end of your pull) The best traction will come when enough of your added weight is behind the rear axle to keep your front tires(just) off the ground under full power. And this is where you may have to adjust air preasure to keep her straight. I'm a 3 year amateur, I'm still learning too.

Air Pressure Air Pressure Air Pressure.

Sometimes you can do good on worn tires if you get the pressure right. Not to low not to high but some place in the midde where you can get a good gear to match it. and A good weight balance. Keep trying don"t give up sometimes those old tire will work fine.

Use that half wore set. This may sound stupid but what I did is hook that thing to a tree by a slab of broom finished concrete, jack up back end slightly and let it spin in re back for a while so it don't hop or anything like that. That will put a nice knife edge on the bars. They will cut that clay like butter. Run your air low enough that when you drive out of you holes after pulling the holes are flat on the bottom. You may have to bump the brakes while you do this, but in the long run you will be impressed and it is legal.

I don't know what part of the country you are from but if you pull in Southeast iowa any with tires that have been spun on cement you will be disqualified. Spinning on cement is just another method of cutting tires. It leaves marks on the tires and any alterations to tires = DQ

Yeah,I'd try the new tires on the wide rims.I think you'll find a better bite with those newer lugs ballooned out wider
