whats the better tractor to make into a puller

i have a 1940 farmall h and 1950 Allis Chalmers wd i want to pull in 3,500 farm stock , so please tell me what you think would do better in the class and what i need to do make them pull better . and if any of you guys know any other tractor the would be good beside any john deere please tell me james

You can get a WC down to around 3000lbs that gives you some moveable weight . An H it is hard to get in 3500lbs class I know that from trying hehe

3500 farm Stock? I would say the WD would probably do a little better with less work. Those AC's are tough in the lighter classes.

Had an older ex Allis mechanic(Jeff you know him,he lives by the fire tower)tell me that A stock WD Allis with the right 3 bottom plow for that particular tractor would make a STOCK M Farmall ashamed of itself in plowing the field.The WD is one potent tractor for its size.

If I had to use either tractor every day, I would take the IH one every time... much easier for me to get on and off of them vs. the WD... for pulling, install a gleaner E combine engine (same block series, legal to install) in the WD and have fun.
