Which gear would you pull an 90-100hp. oliver 77 in in open class 16.9x34 hand cut tires should make 3500lbs. easy?

Finally got that thing on the track I see. I'd start with 3rd gear. It might save you an embarrassment.

if your hp #s are correct. depending on witch ring & pinion you have. we pulled ours in 6th. in 3500 with good 18.4x38.

With a heavy duty clutch and high rpms, should handle 5th gear

Unless you are pulling on dry sand with a 10ft. chain, prepare to choke. I'd say start in 3rd gear.

Was thinking 4th.gear usually a loose track. Will be running 30% OVER ON RPM'S limiter hits at 3000.

You may be able to pull 4th gear (depending on the ring & pinion ratio) with the 16.9 x 34 tires on a loose track in the 3500# class. I would give it a try and see how it goes. I think 5th might be to much and 3rd to slow. Let us know how you do.
